Lone Wolf (22532) |
Biography I began my wrestling career working security at independent shows in the underbelly of the Greater Tampa Bay Area in Florida. During these times I made a lot of professional contacts including but not limited to Christopher Daniels, Danny Doring, Gangrel, David Young, Nick Dinsmore, Nova (aka Simon Dean), and Steve Corino. One night at a NWA:SE show, a small-time wrestler no-showed for a local match with Gangrel. With the whole roster on the card, my boss at the time Chris "The Doctor" Proctor asked me if I was interested in working a non-paid Squash match with Gangrel. Without batting an eye I agreed. Now at this point I had no official training but I had practiced on my own while setting up the ring numerous times. Needless to say Gangrel taught me what it was like to be in the ring with an established veteran. After the match I walked back to the dressing room with a huge smile on my face. Proctor came in and congradulated me on putting on a fine match. He then offered an opening match at the following week's show against a local jobber. This was the match that truly debuted the wrestler known today as Lone Wolf. The audience unexpectedly applauded the great technical showing reminiscent of classic Bret Hart and Chris Benoit matches. I pulled a lot of the jobbers weiht and slowly worked his head and arms with armbars and modified sleepers. Then I gave my opponent one of the stiffest (yet still quite safe) spears anyone had ever seen. The Howl at the MoonTM was born. I then went for the pin and pull him up after the two count. The crowd stopped cheering. They were confused. Then I went for the pin again, and again I pulled up after two. The crowd then slowly started to boo. For a third time to really get heat I did it again. The crowd was livid! I then applied a Crossface to the fallen opponent. The ref raised the man's hand three times and all three times his arm was limp. I was awarded my first match by knockout. Proctor knew by the sound of the crowd he had a goldmine in his hands. He took it upon himself to train me for the next 2 years. He then decided it was time for me to meet his mentor Dean Malenko. Dean taught me things I never even imagined could be done in the ring. Let me tell you by experience he knows well more than a thousand holds! |
